Oh boy, I bought a magnet of Andy Warhol, the supreme fraud. Having it on the fridge, but to tell the truth, I’m quite fond of it and keep going in front of the fridge and looking up again and again. Gray hair (and it’s a wig), red framed glasses, red jacket, and black turtle neck, it is so very phony. My husband found the magnet doll and said “You have really bad taste….”

あろうことか、稀代の詐欺師アンディー・ウォーホールの磁石を買ってしまった。冷蔵庫に張っているが、しかも何故か妙に気に入ってしまってい、何度もその前に立っては見上げている。白髪（しかもカツラなのだ）に赤縁眼鏡と赤い上着と黒い徳利セーターの姿からは、どう見たってイカガワシイ匂いしかしない。その磁石を発見した夫は「綾さんの趣味、微妙すぎる。」とすこぶる評判が悪い。

I also quite disapprove his way of living and the art works. I dislike them. Even though, he keeps attracting me. I visited his exhibition, wrote a blog article, and on top of that bought this silly magnet.

私だってウォーホールの生き様やその作品を、心から良いと思っている訳ではない。むしろ、嫌いだ。でも気になってしまうし、美術展には足を運ぶし、ブログ記事まで書いてしまったし、挙句かようなものまで買ってしまうのだ。

And reflecting upon and analyzed the reason why. He stirs up my emotions, and I remember the city of New York, stylish and irresistibly attractive yet ominous, with some sweet sentiment. “Something that evokes antimony” is bothersome, but it casts upon some sort of water crests in our mind. Toward the mixture of glittering charm and sinful karma, we respond inevitably. And further more, it is comforting to be carried away by the charm.

それはどうしてかと考えれば、胸のざわつきと、ニューヨークという街が持っていた、垢抜けて飛び切り魅力的な禍々しさを、若干の愛おしさと共に思い出さずにはいられなくなるからだろう。この「二律背反を想起させるもの」は厄介だけれども人の心に波紋を投げかける。眩ゆいほどの魅力と業深きカルマのない交ぜに、否応無く心が反応してしまうのだ。しかも、抗いたいほどの力で押しやれるのが心地よかったりもするのだ。

So and so, after buying this magnet at Kyocera Museum art shop, I appreciated an exhibition of “East Asia and Modern Kyoto Art”. And I was overjoyed to encounter the hidden treasure of “Lady Sei Shonagon” by Uemura Shoen that I was not anticipating.

そんなこんなで、京セラ美術館のミュージアムショップで不覚にもこの磁石を買ったあとに「東アジアと近代京都の美術」の展示を見た。そして全く予想していなかった、上村松園の幻の名画「清少納言」に会うことが出来たのだ。

My heart was full, and went back in front of it 4 times and stared at the painting through and through. My longtime hero Lady Sei Shonagon was also very sarcastic and super intelligent, it is no doubt that she had countless enemies. However, for the purpose to please and entertain Chugu Teishi, the empress, Lady Sei Shonagon dedicated herself and wrote “Makura no Soshi” putting aside worries to be hated by people. I admire her spirit since junior high school, and keep thinking about her.

感動して、四度も戻ってジッとジッとジッと見つめていたけれど、私の永遠の憧れの清少納言だって、かなりの毒舌で鳴らした女房で、敵もかなり多かった筈だ。しかし、心からお慕い申し上げる中宮定子を喜ばせるためだけに、自分は嫌われ役に徹して「枕草子」を書き上げたという見上げた根性が天晴れで、中学生の頃から清少納言のことを何かにつけて考えている。

Other than that, I was so glad that I Tweeted for finishing The University of Tokyo MOOC online course with the blog article attached, Prof. Robert Campbell the lecturer Retweeted it and wrote me “You did a good job!” And if I brag up such things joyously, there should be some group of people “Dah! Too much bragging again!” So maybe, I also belong to the the people that stir up mixed emotions.

その他に最近嬉しかったことと言えば、東大MOOCのコースを修了したことを書いたブログ記事を付けてツイッターに載せたら、MOOCの講師をされていたロバート・キャンベル先生にリツイートして貰えて「ご苦労さまでした！⭐️」という言葉を貰えたこと。こんなことを無邪気に書くと「チッ！自慢ばっかりしやがってよぉ！」と思う人は必ずいる訳で、私も恐らく難しい感情を掻き立てる側の人間なのだろう。

First Penguin is the one that leaves a group of penguins behind and jumps into the ocean first seeking for fish, the ocean could be a dangerous place with enemies. Aka, frontier. But I believe it has the nature of simple and innocent, so when confronting with difficulties, it is resilient and recovers from the damage quite soon. And it is getting stronger as it experiences numerous things. And it is fond of something fun more than anything, and it comes up with ideas of enjoyment like a spring that never dries up. Now that I’m practicing folding Sakura cherry blossom origami, preparing for the next stage.

ファースト・ペンギンというものは、集団で行動するペンギンの群れの中から、天敵がいるかもしれない海へ、魚を求めて最初に飛び込むペンギンのことで、つまりは開拓者だ。けれど、基本的には能天気な気質があるので、困難に遭遇しても、すぐにまたムクムクムクッと立ち上がり後はケロッとしている。そして、場数を踏めば踏むほど逞しくなってゆく。そして楽しいことが何よりも好きで、自分でありとあらゆる楽しいことを生み出してゆく。今は折り紙の桜の折り方を練習していて、次の準備に余念がないのである。

Lately, bought a kaleidoscope for 360 yen, and looking into it from time to time. I’m wishing to write a world like kaleidoscope as well. And this article is like talking to myself, and hope you have fun reading.

先日ずっと欲しいと思っていた万華鏡を360円で買って、時々中を覗いている。私が書くものも、万華鏡の様に色とりどりに煌めく世界となればとの思いもあり、今回の記事はただの独り言の随筆なので、楽しんで貰えたら嬉しいです。
