I would like to open Master’s Thesis I submitted to Kyoto University of the Arts, 2024. I established Japanography; writing and lecturing Japanese culture in English and Japanese bilingual, and became the pioneer.

2024年に京都芸術大学大学院に提出した、ジャパノグラフィー®︎に関する修士論文を公開いたします。日本文化を日本語と英語のバイリンガルで綴り講義する、ジャパノグラフィー®︎を確立させて、第一人者になりました。

Nearly a century has passed since Meiji Era intellects spread Theory of Japanese Culture to the world. Now that IT revolution enabled each grass root individual to write Japanese culture in English & Japanese bilingual. The thesis is linking keywords of Zen and Kawaii that are attracting the world. It is over 100 pages including appendix, painstaking work of mine.

論文では、明治時代の知識人が世界に広めた日本文化論からおよそ1世紀が経って、IT革命が可能にした、世界中の草の根の個人が、日本文化について日英のバイリンガルで書く時代の到来を述べました。そして、世界中が夢中になっている日本文化の禅とカワイイを、キーワードとして結び付けました。巻末資料も含めると、100ページ超えの労作です。

I pray that Japanography wins citizenship, expands to the world, and be practiced and studied widely. The original thesis is written in Japanese, but hope you read it if you can.

これからは、ジャパノグラフィー®︎が市民権を持ち、世界中に広がり多くの実践と研究がされる分野となって行きますように。修士論文の原本は日本語での執筆になります。
